What is the best way to apply for a credit card without any credit?
August 19, 2008 : Posted by: admin : Category: apply for credit card : Add CommentNeither my husband or I have any credit. We have a car in his name, but the co-signer is his mother (because we don’t have any established credit). I kept all of our bills in my name (like electric, gas and what not). We do not have a cell phone provider that gives us any credit b/c we like the company that we have.
We’ve applied for several credit cards, and keep getting denied. I’ve even resulted in trying to apply for a Sears card, Victoria Secret card and so on… we’re denied because we don’t have any existing credit. I even went to my bank, and they are unable to help us with anything.
What can I do to start my credit? If I am being denied for not having credit, how can I build credit?! I’m confused! Please help!
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Capitol One, Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Sears… no one will give us a card!

Try applying for a secured credit card from your local bank.

buy something from blue hippo. It’s an electronic company that is really cheap. They’ll accept you no matter what, and they’ll set up a payment plan with you. You’ll build your credit with them.

I have the same problem! What I did was I researched it on the internet and i found this company that will give you a chance. It’s a Visa Platinum card for people that have little to no credit. Here is the website:

from there, go to browse cards, and choose the visa platinum. They should accept you! Good luck

First, stop applying for so many cards. Counterintuitively, the more times you apply, the less likely you are to receive any cards. Each application further reduces your credit score and makes it less likely that you will ever be approved.
Wait approximately two years so that you do not have a history of many recent applications. Then, file one — only — application, with whatever card issuer at that time is most likely to approve someone with no credit history.

Hi,
I went through that a few years ago. I had inexistent credit history and no one would approve me.
Sounds like you have so many denials that any other request will have the same result
There are cards designed for people with no credit or very bad credit… Those are the prepaid credit cards that you can add money anytime… You wont be getting credit per say but it is a first step in the right direction

I wish you and your husband good luck!
