How do I get a credit card with bad credit and a cosigner?
August 19, 2008 : Posted by: admin : Category: credit card bad credit : Add CommentI have a cosigner that has excellent credit that will cosign for me to get a credit card to build my score plus to have for emergencies. My score is a 585. I pay my bills on time and don't spend alot of money on dumb things. I just don't have anything but a car loan giving me credit and a couple of old accounts that need taken care of.
Major credit card issuers like Discover, American Express and Chase offer a credit card for bad credit holders. A 'shopping' card offers you an unsecured line of credit from specific sellers. Use these cards to increase your credit rating, since the credit bureaus will be informed about your timely payments. Take care to ensure your credit is good by making intelligent credit choices. Keep low balances, do not be extravagant and take care to pay off your balances promptly every month.

No need.
If your co-signer is willing to do this for you? Simply have them add you as a authorized user to one of their credit cards with a good long pay history.
This way when the credit bureaus update their information the good long pay history will show on your report and your score will rise.
